Today In History - May 18th 1974 The Streak by Ray Stevens Hits #1 Don't Look Ethel "The Streak" is a popular country/novelty song written, produced, and sung by Ray Stevens. It was released in March 1974 as the lead single to his album Boogity Boogity. "The Streak" capitalized on the then popular craze of streaking. One of Stevens' most successful recordings, "The Streak" was his second number one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the USA, spending three weeks at the top in May 1974 and reached #3 on the Billboard Country singles chart. A major international hit it also reached #1 on the UK Singles Chart, spending a single week at the top of the chart in June 1974. In total it sold over 5 million copies internationally and ranked on Billboard magazine's Top hits of 1974 at #8. The song's story is a series of three "news flashes" featuring the "Action News Reporter" (Stevens) on the scenes of reported streaking events: at the supermarket, the gas station, and the basketball playoffs. The reporter interviews a man (also Stevens) who responds with his views of what happened. The responses contain several double entendres, and the man tries to warn his wife, Ethel, not to look ("Don't look, Ethel!"), but is always too late. After the third interview, the man sees the streaker again, but to his horror the streaker is joined by his wife, and the man changes his tune: "Ethel, you shameless hussy!" Ray Stevens became so primarily known as a singer of novelty songs that many people don't even realize that he was an excellent serious writer and balladeer. I heard an interview with Kris Kristofferson a while back where he commented on Stevens rendition of his classic Me and Bobby McGee. The FN Barrel is made for Palmetto State Armory by FN using their proprietary blend of Hammer forged chrome molly vanadium that is referred to as “Machine Gun Steel” by virtue of its use in FN’s M249 and M240 weapons. The hammer forging process work hardens the steel, making it more durable. In addition, the chrome process for the bore allows for a lining almost twice as thick as a standard M16 for enhanced durability. Chambered in 5.56 NATO, with a 1/7 twist, M4 barrel extension with extended feedramps, and a carbine gas system.
Bird cage style comp, collapsable stock and bayonet lug are standard.
This is a flat top optics ready rifle.

The PAL M4 Spec Op 15. This is an M-4 style AR-15 semi-auto rifle with a 16" chrome molly vanadium 5.56 (.223 ) cal Mil Spec barrel. Unlike many AR-Barrels from other manufacturers these quality barrels are actually chrome lined. Rifle also features a Magpul 6 position buttstock as well as a M.O.E Magpul pistol grip and ergonomic handguard.
Bird cage style comp, M-4 barrel and bayonet lug are standard.
This is a flat top rifle but comes complete with an MBUS adjustable rear sight by Magpul Industries. My photo above does not do this rifle justice and I plan to try to find a better one but these are very nice rifles and a ton of rifle for the money.
